How to configure your Linksys BEFSR41 Router with pcAnywhere

Setting up port forwarding in your router.

  1. Log in to your router.
    Open up your web browser. Enter http://192.168.1.1 in the web browsers Address field. Press the Enter key.

  2. The Enter Network Password window will appear. Windows XP users will see a
    Connect to 192.168.1.1 window.

    Leave the User Name field empty, and enter admin in lowercase letters in the
    Password field. Then click the OK button.


  3. Click the Applications & Gaming tab.
    You will see the Port Range Forwarding screen.

    Linksys recommends that before using Forwarding, you should assign a static IP
    address to the designated PC.


  4. Example entry for the DynIP Client Software server.

    Enter pcA in the Application field.
    Enter 5631 in the Start field.
    Enter 5632 in the End field.
    Select TCP from the Protocol Select list.
    Enter the destination PC's IP address in the IP Address field. This is the computer that
    is actually running the pcAnywhere software.
    Check the Enabled check box.
    Click the Save Settings button to save your port forwarding entry.

Repeat step 4 for each service you want to provide to the outside internet.
